2006 – A Year of Diving and Memories

2006 turned out to be a great year of diving for me. I’ve met some awesome new dive buddies, which I call my friends, I dove in at some awesome places that I hope to return to, I accomplished goals that I set for myself, and most of all I did allot of diving, or about as good as it can get for being landlocked.

For 2007 I have some new goals and will hopefully bring some new experiences for me. My top two goals are to take and earn a tech pass for the GUE DIR- Fundamentals of Diving as well as take the GUE Cave 1 class in Mexico with a couple dive buddies. Other than that I would like to do some more diving in Seattle at the Puget Sound, possibly take a NAUI Helitrox class (or equivalent), plan and execute some decompression dives if I can get a buddy or two to come along, improve my skills and basically just dive and have a good time with my friends.

Here are my 2006 Dive Statistics:

  • Number of Dives: 101
  • Total Time Underwater in Hours: 63 hours, 2 minutes
  • Total Time Underwater in Minutes: 3782 minutes
  • Average Run Time: 37.5 minutes
  • Longest Run Time: 63 minutes
  • Average Depth: 55.18 feet
  • Deepest Depth: 120 ffw altitude corrected

Blue Hole – December 10, 2006

It had been a little over a month since the last time I was in the water, so I was quiet eager to get wet again. After going back and forth of whether I would be able to leave town for the day to go do some diving I decided to go ahead and do it. I met up with a buddy and we had a good time. The water was warmer than the air temperature, which wasn’t too bad other than the cool wind that we had most of the day. The water was pretty comfortable and we basically had the place to ourselves. This will most likely be the last dive that I do in 2006 and I look forward to an awesome 2007 diving season.

  2. Depth – 65ft – Run Time – 40min.
